BioZonooSEA Workshop and trainings on Diagnosis and epidemiology of trypanosomoses

Under the umbrellas of BioZoonoSEA platform”, the NAHIAT, Network on Atypical Human Infections by Animal Trypanosomes, and GREASE network (Management of Epidemiological Emerging Risk in South East Asia), with the financial support of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bangkok, Thailand, and the ComAcross project, we are pleased to inform you that the reports are available for the Trypanosomes and Vectors Workshop / Trainings entitled:

Diagnosis and epidemiology of trypanosomoses and their vectors in South East Asia“

held with the technical support of Kasetsart University (Thailand) and the French institutes CIRAD (Centre de Coopération International en Recherche Agronomique pour le Développement) and IRD (Institut de Recherche pour le Développement).

The open workshop (52 participants) was held in partnership with the Centre d'Infectiologie Christophe Mérieux du Laos (CICML) in Vientiane (5th October 2015). The workshop-training (26 participants) was held from 6th to 9th October 2015, at the National University Of Lao (NUOL), Nabong, Lao: Find the report HERE.

The Specific training-Workshop (12 participants) was held in the BioZoonoSEA Platform laboratories, Faculty of veterinary Medicine, Kasetsart University, Bangkok, Thailand: Find the report HERE.

These Workshops and Trainings aimed at sharing knowledge and experience on trypanosomes and their vectors as potential zoonotic diseases: diagnosis, epidemiology, impact and control of the disease as well as trapping, identification, transmission and control of vectors. The complementary laboratory specific training given in (2-6 November) focussed on laboratory diagnosis method, including parasitology, serology and molecular techniques.
