Successful Training in Participatory Epidemiology

The training in participatory epidemiology, which is part of the capacity building activities of ComAcross , has started in the framework of the implementation of the case study 1 in Thailand in partnership with PENAPH network.

This activity aims at reinforcing target groups skills in participatory approaches applied to epidemiology. 4 training session will be organised (1 in the framework of each case study). The activity will be implemented by CIRAD with the support of ILRI (PENAPH network).

A preliminary mission was organized in order to meet the key stakeholders at provincial level in Ayutthaya province and to conduct preliminary interviews regarding prioritization of diseases and health issues liked to flooding and water management (December 2014). Then one week of PE practitioner training was organized in Bangkok (KU) involving 12 trainees and 5 trainers in the process of being certificated as professional PE trainers (in link with the “training of trainers” workshop that has been organized in the framework of Grease network in September 2013).
